Soon-To-Be Mr. & Mrs. Smith

July 12, 2007

For Valentine's Day I gave Spencer a box of "50 First Dates." These cards would be an easy way for him to come up with an activity or date... just pull out a card and you're all set. This seemed pretty cool to me but it took Spencer 5 months to actually use it!! This is how our dinner date started on Saturday night. The card the Spencer picked was sushi at Malee's. He knew I really liked their food so off we went. We tried some new rolls and loved everything! After dinner we went to an old Phoenix ice cream shop called Mary Coyle’s. We shared a yummy banana split. After dessert we started driving home.. or so I thought. Spencer told me that he added something to the date card but wouldn't tell me what! As soon as we were on the 202 I knew we were going to the Temple. His reason was that it was a nice night for a walk ;) too cute! We walked around the temple grounds and found a bench that wasn't surrounded by people. As soon as we sat down he took the date card out of his pocket and said "Do you want to see what else is on the card?" Heck ya I did. He gave me the card and it read "then get engaged at the temple." The first thing I said was "Are you serious?" I was SO excited! Spencer got down on one knee and asked me if I would make him the happiest man for all eternity and be his wife. I said YES!! He asked if it was worth the wait... it sure was!!!
Thank you Spencer for making my dreams come true!
LOVE YOU FOREVER!

4th of July Weekend

Havasupai Hike

Our hike started at 2am on Friday morning and ended at 10pm on Saturday night. It was quick but so much fun. Spencer and I met Jacob and his friends, Stacy, Alane, Hyeku, and Cris for the trip. The early morning hike was brutal due to our lack of sleep but we all napped for a bit when we got to camp. Then we hit the falls!

Havasu Falls

First we went to Havasu Falls . The cold water and mist woke us up for sure. Havasu plunges 100 feet into blue-green pools. After lunch back at camp we went to play on Navajo Falls . We climbed up the falls to play in the seemingly never-ending pools above the fall. It was so peaceful and felt like we should have been in Hawaii and not the desert of Arizona ! Spencer, Jacob and Elaine all jumped the 75 foot fall!!

Saturday we were up early to play so more! We walked down to Mooney Falls . This fall plunges 200 feet! The only way to get to it is to climb through small holes cut in the rock and a slippery ledge! Getting down is worth it to play in the beautiful water and don’t forget to rope swing!!

Spencer and I hiked a little ways to find this canyon filled with green bushes and trees. It was amazing!! We had so much fun and can’t wait to go back next year!!

Hello 30!

Jay, Katrina, Allison, Brent, Corissa, Spencer
Ben, Jenna, Steve, Becca, Steve, Krystal, Dave
and the Pope!

Spencer’s 30th Birthday Bash began at Bucca di Beppo with a tasty Italian dinner. We sat in the Pope Room… it’s a large room with a round table with the bust of the Pope right in the middle and a big lazy Susan. We found out you can spin it fast enough to make stuff fly off (thanks for testing that with the wine glasses Trina!)

After dinner everyone went back to Spencer’s to enjoy homemade chiffon cake with almond cream cheese frosting. I tried my best to make the blueberries say 30 haha! Spencer’s friends have introduced him to a new game called Ticket to Ride. I’m not a big fan of strategic games but he LOVES them so I gave him the USA version. We all had fun breaking it in!
